N’Djaména hosts a national workshop on the implementation of Article 5 of the Ottawa Convention
On 30 and 31 March, a national workshop on the implementation of article 5 of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction (the Ottawa Convention) took place in the Chadian capital. The event was organized in partnership with the National High Commission for Demining (HCND) with the support of the FSD France Association thanks to the PRODECO project funded by the European Union.
This workshop, chaired by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy, Development Planning, and International Cooperation, brought together all actors from the mine action sector in Chad, as well as Government representatives and civil society actors.
The objective of this workshop was to gather as much information and recommendations as possible in order to produce a detailed and quantitative work plan for the next three years.
The richness of the discussions held during the two-day event made it possible to achieve this objective and HCND now has all elements to finalize this work plan with the support of FSD France in collaboration with partners.
