World Children’s Day: A message from Ayman, Marwa, Fadi and Ghazal

Ayman, Marwa, Fadi and Ghazal are children living in one of some 1,400 displacement camps in north-west Syria. On the occasion of World Children’s Day, on November 20, they share the following message:

“We are here in Idleb, children born in war and dreaming of peace.

We were born in tents and play football with cloth balls that we made ourselves out of worn-out clothes. We make toys out of mud and straw and drink water distributed by tankers. There is no electricity in our camp and we walk on muddy roads to go to school.

We hope that peace will prevail and wars will stop all over the world. We hope all children can live in warm homes, drink clean water and eat healthy food. We wish that every child can live with his or her family and achieve their dreams to reach success.”
